Subject Distinctives

Bible curriculum for a faith that lasts.
At Grace Leadership Academy, we believe Bible education should go far beyond memorization. Our Bible curriculum is designed to help students build a deep, lasting understanding of God’s Word by discovering how every part of Scripture connects into one powerful and unified story. Students learn the biblical framework of history, explore the promises of the Old Testament, and recognize Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of those promises throughout the New Testament.
Through intentional teaching and discipleship, students are encouraged to apply biblical truth to their everyday lives, decisions, relationships, and leadership. Our goal is not only to grow students academically, but also spiritually equipping them to walk in wisdom, character, and faith with a Christ-centered worldview that will guide them for years to come..

BJU Reading
The means by which each person may learn for himself.
At Grace Leadership Academy, we believe reading is more than a subject it is a gateway to discovery, understanding, and growth. Using the BJU Press reading curriculum, students are taught not only how to read, but how to think critically, engage deeply, and connect meaningfully with what they are reading. Through a variety of literature, students develop comprehension, communication, and analytical skills that strengthen both academic excellence and spiritual maturity.

As students explore stories, history, poetry, and informational texts, they also learn to approach Scripture with greater care, wisdom, and understanding. Our desire is to cultivate students who love learning, value truth, and become confident, lifelong readers who are equipped to impact the world around them with knowledge, discernment, and faith.
BJU History
A realistic view of time, government, geography, and economics based on eternal truths.
At Grace Leadership Academy, we believe history is far more than dates and events it is the unfolding story of God’s hand throughout generations. Through our history curriculum, students gain a deeper understanding of how personal choices, leadership, faith, and values have shaped individuals, nations, and civilizations throughout time. By examining both the triumphs and failures of history, students learn the lasting impact of sowing and reaping on a personal, cultural, and global level.

Our curriculum encourages students to view history through a biblical worldview, recognizing God’s sovereignty and eternal truth woven throughout the story of humanity. As students study the rise and fall of nations, influential leaders, and pivotal moments in history, they are challenged to develop wisdom, discernment, and character that will prepare them to become thoughtful leaders and world changers in their own generation.
Abeka Mathematics
The study of logic and order to apply to science and daily life.
Abeka teaches that the laws of mathematics are a creation of God and thus absolute. Man’s task is to search out and make use of the laws of the universe, both scientific and mathematical. This is in significant contrast to the modern math theories that are based on mathematics as a creation of man and thus arbitrary and relative.

Students enjoy Abeka’s variety in covering multiple branches of mathematics—arithmetic, geometry, algebra, etc.—each year on an age-appropriate level. At the same time, they benefit from the spiral approach of revisiting and building upon the learning throughout each year and from one year to the next. The learning is both relevant for today and foundational for the future, with each course purposefully preparing students for the next.
This solid foundation of mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills, enhanced with a biblical worldview, intentionally and naturally results in lifelong application.
BJU Science & Health
The investigation of variety, order, and reasonableness revealed in creation.
At Grace Leadership Academy, we believe science is an opportunity to explore the beauty, order, and creativity of God’s creation. Our science curriculum goes beyond memorizing facts and formulas by helping students develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of the world around them through a biblical worldview. Using the BJU Press science curriculum, students are encouraged to investigate, discover, and apply scientific knowledge with wisdom, integrity, and purpose.

Through hands-on learning, observation, and inquiry, students learn how scientific principles reveal the intentional design of God’s creation. Our goal is to equip students not only with academic knowledge, but also with the discernment to use science responsibly as faithful stewards of the world God has entrusted to us. We desire for students to grow in curiosity, confidence, and wonder as they learn to use their knowledge for God’s glory and the good of others.
BJU English
The study of language and communication in a structured, reasonable, and well-articulated manner.
At Grace Leadership Academy, we believe language is one of the most powerful gifts God has given us. Through communication, we are able to build relationships, share truth, encourage others, and lead with wisdom and love. Our English curriculum is designed to help students grow into confident, effective communicators who can clearly express their thoughts, ideas, and creativity with excellence and integrity.

Using engaging, memorable, and practical instruction, students develop strong skills in grammar, writing, vocabulary, speaking, and comprehension. Beyond academic success, our curriculum equips students to communicate with character, purpose, and confidence in every area of life. Our goal is to empower each student to become a thoughtful writer, articulate speaker, and lifelong learner who uses their words to make a positive impact on the world around them.
